What can you see below it’s happened in 2017, but it started more years before when I met Richard Sweeney at Cartasia in Lucca: if I’m not wrong was in 2010, for me was so unexpected what I saw and at the time was indecipherable how one artist can use the paper like that. I fell in love with that kind of paper works but at that time for me was too early to start my experience with the paper. Seven years later I realized that it must be my way, THE PAPER. Everythings start with a simple idea or a crazy idea usually, with a drawing that helps me to understand better the shapes of my future sculpture, You can see below that the sculptures started like that with a simple drawing of Medusa, also called Gorgo, a mythological figure in Greek mythology. After I have done the drawing I start to think about shapes, empty and full, and how I can obtain that shape with paper folded, cut and glued. It’s impossible to explain with words but when I do that I find every time the right way.
